not to be dramatic, but

Engagement Farming.

I remember distinctly riding in the car, to church, with my maternal grandparents, when I was a single-digit-aged child, and witnessing this conversation

Grandma: Where did you guys fish today?

Grandpa: We fished in the crick for a while.

Grandma: The word is "creek", John.

Grandpa: I don't know what they call it in West Virginia, Dorothy, but in Oklahoma, we call it a crick!

(We were in Kansas).

I recall finding this hilarious at the time. It still makes me chuckle. It was not the first time I'd heard this debate. I suppose my grandmother did not find it quite so amusing, as she seemed pretty worked up the by the whole experience.
