not to be dramatic, but

Own your space

Let the products sell themselves

Fuck advertising, commercial psychology

Psychological methods to sell should be destroyed

Because of their own blind involvement

In their own conditioned minds

The unit bonded together

Morals, ideals, awareness, progress

Let yourself be heard!

My friend Jerry puts stuff on Instagram a lot and something he's always posting is "Own your day". It's usually with a picture of the gym; sometimes other things, but it always makes me think that my day is whatever I choose it to be. It reminds me of that old Cat Stevens song "If you want to sing out sing out". I find that song pretty inspirational, too.

I got told when I was kid that hate is a waste of time. I guess it left an impression on me, because I don't really hate a lot of things, but advertising is one of them. Recently I noticed how much of it had invaded my home. Samsung this, Sony that, Linksys some other thing.

I also have a ton of stickers. They have things I like printed on them. I'm looking at a sticker I got at the ICM, another sticker I got from one of my favorite bands, another from my favorite zine, another from an awesome screenprint shop, and another from the based god. Just a bunch of things that are made by people that I think are doing really cool stuff. Anyway, the other day I put two and two together and I started putting stickers over all the logos that have crept into my space. I see that stuff over and over and over again, and I can't think of any reason to let some one else pick what objects I look at.

I guess my point is that it's preferable, for me anyway, to surround myself with objects that remind me of people that I love, rather than advertising for some publicly traded corporation that can only speak in the language of money.

Free Palestine.
